The Opportunity
The position is part of a team that is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the physical and virtual technology infrastructure systems of RDV Corporation and our client.

The position is primarily responsible for supporting the network infrastructure and related technologies utilized by RDV Corporation employees, as well as client family members and support staff, including the network at the RDV Corporation office complex and at the RDV Corporation Disaster Recovery site. The position will back up the Network Engineer – Family Support position, providing network support at family properties on occasion.  The position will also back up and provide support to the Systems Engineer positions for server and storage system administration.  The ability for this position to communicate effectively and to build trust with staff and executives is critical.

What You'll Do

General Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate complex technical ideas and structures to people with widely varying skills and interests.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • Work with RDV Corporation executives and staff in a pleasant, professional, and confidential manner.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the networking needs of RDV Corporation.
  • Appropriately address and respond to inquiries and problems in a timely manner.
  • Always maintain the highest level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Remain current with technology trends and industry developments.
  • Track time spent on support for various entities.
  • After hours work will be required occasionally to minimize the impact to our end users while updating, testing solutions or in the event of an incident that needs to be remedied.

Network Responsibilities

  • Support wired/wireless network infrastructure at various locations, including planning, procurement, installation, troubleshooting, updates, and wireless site surveys.
  • Work within a team in planning and resolving networking issues in virtual networks for cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Attend project meetings when necessary to discuss planning for network infrastructure, including cabling (CAT6 and fiber) and wireless access point locations.
  • Monitor the status of critical network devices and Internet/data connections and coordinate or perform repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain VPNs including LAN to LAN, SSL, Dynamic Multipoint, and client-based VPNs.
  • Maintain Network Monitoring System.
  • Monitor software releases and security bulletins for network infrastructure devices.  Schedule and apply updates to address security, reliability, or functionality issues; in most cases, it will be necessary to schedule the updates outside of normal business hours.
  • Monitor Intrusion Prevention System and take immediate steps to mitigate any security incidents.
  • Maintain F5 Local Traffic Manager systems.
  • Maintain/update BGP routers.
  • Maintain/update Core switch.
  • Maintain/update fiber switches.
  • Participate in ongoing maintenance and biannual testing of Disaster Recovery testing processes.
  • Work with Systems and AV Administrators to troubleshoot system performance and networking issues.
  • Procure, install, and maintain Internet, traditional and software defined WAN connections.  Work with the appropriate vendors to support these technologies.
  • Work with outside technology providers, such as telephone, A/V, HVAC, and Security vendors to support the routing/switching, and security infrastructure for their devices on our networks.
  • Maintain accurate records of static IP addresses, ISP info, and other critical network information.
  • Research, test, propose, and demo (as appropriate) network equipment and related technologies.
  • Work with outside vendors to coordinate purchasing, support, installation and repair of network-related products and services.
  • Purchase, install, modify, and make minor repairs to hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and documentation.

General Systems Responsibilities

  • Work within a team that is responsible for maintaining an appropriate security posture for both on premise and cloud environments.
  • Work within a team that is responsible for maintaining multiple secure, stable and resilient Microsoft tenants including M365, Azure and D365 clouds.
  • Work with authentication systems such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and OAuth to implement more secure connectivity solutions such as NAC/ISE.
  • Work within a team to respond to various incidents that either in the cloud or on-premises environments such that the incident is contained, and information is retained to allow for a thorough forensics of the incident.
  • Monitor server room environment; recommend and procure equipment to control temperature, dust, humidity, and other environmental factors in the room, including battery back-up and generator systems.
  • Maintain Cisco UCS blade server environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in other project and support activities as assigned.
  • Work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for first-level response on network and system issues.
  • Be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for support.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.  An educational emphasis in information technology or additional training in network or computing technologies required.
  • CCNP certification or equivalent experience required.
  • At least five years of enterprise network experience required.
  • Experience with the majority of the following technologies required:
      • TCP/IP communications, including routing/switching (L2 and L3), Wide IP, BGP, DNS, VLAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP, and security concepts
      • Cisco security products including products such as: ASA firewalls, IPS, ISE, Umbrella, and VPN
      • Fiber switches
      • Modern enterprise core and distribution Cisco hardware
      • PRTG Network Monitoring System
      • Working with Windows and iOS devices to implement and support network or security on those devices
      • Enterprise SAN administration and SAN communication technologies, including FibreChannel, FibreChannel over Ethernet (FCoE), and iSCSI
      • Network load balancer technologies
      • SIEM solutions such as LogRhythm or Microsoft Sentinel
      • Security, Orchestration, Automation and Response solutions
      • DNS administration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
  • Facilitation skills, negotiation skills and the ability to document thoroughly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand, install, maintain, operate, and explain computer systems, including hardware, software, and related applications.
  • Uncompromised commitment to the highest level of customer service and confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities.

Additional Requirements
  • Non-routine hours over eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours per week and five (5) days a week.
  • Lifting fifty (50) pounds to a maximum height of four (4) feet.
  • Climbing steps and stairs; stooping and bending.
