The Opportunity

The Tax Specialist is responsible for preparation of tax workpapers, returns, and estimate calculations, preparation of tax-related correspondences, and tax planning analysis. The Tax Specialist will collaborate with the tax team and cross-departmentally to provide exceptional service and counsel to the business and private equity investment entities that RDV Corporation serves.

What You'll Do
- Partner with the tax team in the detailed and accurate preparation of tax returns and estimate calculations. This includes partnership and corporation Federal and state income tax returns for business entities and private equity investment entities.
- Partner with the tax team on the preparation and review of some or all the following:
- Correspondence related to IRS and state notices
- Research related to tax issues on reporting of income and deductions
- Maintain basis calculations on investments
- Conduct analysis and complete projects related to federal and state income tax planning.
- Collaborate with other staff and tax management team members to provide exceptional tax management services to RDV Corporation’s stakeholders.
- Work with outside service providers for delivery of tax services to RDV.
- Communicate and work cross-departmentally to transfer and receive necessary tax information as well as support cross-departmental projects.
- Display pro-active initiative to research tax issues.
What You'll Bring
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Experience in public accounting or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze general ledger and financial statement information and gaining experience with sophisticated tax issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with tax return preparation software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with utilizing various tax technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Uncompromised commitment to highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities.
