The Opportunity
The Trail.Club Intern will assist the Senior Program Officer in implementing Trail.Club projects, including a monthly treasure hunt. Works collaboratively with the Grants, Philanthropy Communications, RDV Communications teams and external partners, including local nonprofits.

Location, Hours, & Other Requirements
This position will be located downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Interested individuals should be able to work 20-40 hours per week during the summer of 2024, which may include a Saturday or evening, pursuing an undergraduate degree and preferably entering their junior or senior year. The selected individual will be able to operate an automobile, be in possession of a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and be available to travel within West Michigan when necessary.


What You'll Do
  • Supports implementation of Trail.Club projects, including the monthly treasure hunt series, to help donors activate West Michigan trails.
  • Project management interest a plus
  • Organize project files and timelines.
  • Draft content for website and social media posts, stories, reels for Instagram and Facebook — both for the treasure hunt and other Trail.Club projects.
  • Celebrate treasure hunter achievements through social media and monitor social engagement.
  • Assist in selecting trail locations, themes, and logistics, including scouting locations for final selection.
  • Check and restock treasure boxes.
  • Organize and mail prizes to treasure hunters. 
What You'll Bring
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a one of a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to Marketing & Communications, Business Administration, Public and Non-profit Administration, Hospitality, Kinesiology, Environmental Science, etc.
  • Some experience with graphic layout, design, and photography preferred.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work with multiple teams, and the ability to manage shifting workflow, clarify deadlines, and negotiate priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently on projects and tasks.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, social media, and website content editing tools.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management in a highly professional and confidential corporate environment and comfortable in sharing in ideation sessions.
