What You'll Do
- Maintains a working knowledge of RDV Philanthropy’s funding priorities.
- Assists in managing the grant inquiry and application process, including communication with prospective grantees, initial review of applications and financial data, arranging site visits, and synthesizing information for SPO review and summarization.
- Conducts research to identify potential eligible grantees and investment opportunities.
- Manages grant-related activity within the grants management system, including visitation or other grantee notes.
- Provides technical assistance to grantees as appropriate.
- Follows up on past grants and evaluation reports when appropriate.
- Manages a variety of projects including, but not limited to, conceptualizing, planning, organizing, and directing initiated projects, events, and activities.
- Prepares high-quality draft reports, including PowerPoint presentations for staff and foundation trustees.
- Coordinates logistics for meetings with internal and external stakeholders and, occasionally, special events.
- Stays abreast of current developments in the philanthropic and other related fields.
- Shares information in a way that contributes to the learning, cross-functioning, and improvement of the RDV Philanthropy team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (nonprofit management, business, finance, communications, administration, health and human services), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as an ability to convey information to others clearly and concisely.
- Excellent proofreading skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with a wide range of audiences; makes others feel comfortable and inspired.
- A self-starter who can work independently on multiple projects and prioritize work while being comfortable seeking guidance, wisdom, and input from coworkers.
