The Opportunity
The purpose of this position is to develop and oversee the implementation of the Amplify GR (AGR) brand and communications strategy. This includes promoting the mission, vision, values, and achievements of AGR while also educating external audiences about the shared vision, goals and strategies of holistic community development. This position is responsible for creating, coordinating and implementing communications through various print, radio, television, advertising, website, and social media outlets.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement AGR’s communication plan in tight partnership with the Executive Director and team.
    • AGR boasts a complex array of stakeholders that include neighbors, external stakeholders/investors, elected officials, and donors.
    • AGR’s work is at the intersection of socially complicated issues, and engages with a people of varied socio-economic, educational, and racial backgrounds.
    • The successful Communications Manager will find innovative ways to engage with neighbors as well as the community at large.
  • Proactively work with the AGR team, partners, and community stakeholders to highlight the positive stories in the neighborhoods we serve.
  • Build common standards, language, brand, style and editing standards, as well as visual/aesthetic standards.
  • Working closely with staff and external consultants, serve as project manager in the development of ideas and strategies for newsletters, annual reports, blogs, press releases, printed material, website and online content, including the web and social media.
  • Plan, write or curate, edit, coordinate, and disseminate content for AGR’s online presence, including developing and maintaining a master production calendar for each AGR Pillar to ensure regular content on the website and social media platforms throughout the year. This includes articles, photos, and videos. 
  • Work collaboratively with staff from each AGR Pillar to develop and execute applicable communications content.
  • Track and create reports on the impact of digital media through data analytics.
  • Create, edit, and maintain multimedia applications, including photo galleries, slideshows, videos, and graphics, ensuring a consistent look and feel across mediums.
  • Project manage video teams, as requested by the Executive Director, and help assure quality standards are met in production.
  • Assist with storyboard development for video testimonials, audio editing, and script development for audio recordings.
  • Coordinate video development schedules by securing dates, locations, and permissions, in addition to scheduling appearances for video shoots.
  • Research approval for use and licensing of copyrighted contents (photos, music, and video).
  • Review all content to ensure consistent voice and brand as well as style and look across AGR’s various platforms and publications.
  • Track, measure, analyze and deliver reports on communications efforts.
  • Generate new ideas and innovative strategies to push the organization forward.
  • All other projects as assigned by Executive Director.
Elements of Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of comprehensive experience in one of these fields.
  • Experience with writing, editing, and production required. 
  • Experience with digital and web communications, and social media required.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including strong attention to detail.
  • Cultural competence in interacting with diverse socio-economic, racial, and ethnic audiences. Spanish language preferred.
  • Some experience with layout, design, photography, and videography strongly preferred.
  • Creativity, energy, and initiative to work in diverse communities and non-profit environments.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, social media, and website content editing tools.
  • Ability to manage budget, quotes, deadlines, contracts, projects and people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to attend evening or weekend events.
  • Requires occasional to moderate local travel; must be able to operate an automobile and be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
