The Opportunity
The Housekeeper will provide hands-on support of the house cleaning and daily household operations to ensure the simplification and efficiency of the daily activities of a private family and their residences. 

Location and Hours
This full-time position will be located at private residences in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8AM – 4PM and weekends as needed.

What You'll Do
  • Manage the daily household cleaning to ensure the residence(s) are kept in pristine condition.
  • Perform basic daily household duties, i.e., cleaning bathrooms, ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen, filling and emptying dishwasher, taking out the trash, dusting, vacuuming, and putting décor items and belongings back in appropriate locations. 
  • Assist with orderliness and cleanliness of families’ rooms, living, recreation, and storage areas; organizes supplies, picks up toys, and other items as directed. 
  • Ensure surfaces and floors are kept clean and organized.  
  • Conduct beginning and end-of-day procedures, including walk-through of residence to ensure personal belongings are stored properly and overall tidiness of residence.  
  • Perform routine deep cleaning, i.e., organizing cupboards, closet cleanouts, washing interior windows, completing spring cleaning.  
  • Schedule routine or other project cleaning as needed such as floor/surface scrubbing/polishing/grout/sealing or carpet/upholstery cleaning.  
  • Support household Laundress, including assisting in performing laundry duties and changing linens when necessary.  Serves as back-up Laundress. 
  • Ensure readiness of residence for entertainment or special events.   
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of household cleaning supplies, personal products, and other basic supplies.  Place orders, receive, and stock for household as needed. 
  • Run errands and shop for household supplies as necessary. 
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Household Manager. 

What You'll Bring
  • Previous housekeeping/house cleaning experience required.  
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in daily routines. 
  • Must be a responsible, dedicated, dependable, and self-directed person of highest integrity; organized and reliable; positive in attitude. 
  • Equipment and cleaning products will be provided by the employer.  If a question arises as to equipment operation or product utilization, the Household Manager will provide guidance. 
  • The family’s privacy is of critical importance, and the highest level of confidentiality must be exercised at all times.  

Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to a maximum height of six (6) feet. 
  • Ability to climb steps and stairs, bend, kneel, and remain standing on feet and kneeling on hands and knees for lengthy periods of time.
