The Opportunity

This position is primarily in Ada, Michigan, and typical hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Summer hours may be reduced to 10 per week. Occasional flexibility is required in terms of days, hours, and location; some work may be needed in Holland, MI, from time to time.

What You'll Do
As a Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Lead Housekeeper to ensure the residences are kept in pristine condition. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and other living areas, filling and emptying the dishwasher, taking out the trash, dusting, vacuuming, and organizing décor items.
• Maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of family rooms, recreation areas, and storage spaces, ensuring surfaces and floors are spotless. 
• Performing beginning and end-of-day procedures to ensure personal belongings are stored properly and the residence remains tidy.
• Handling deep cleaning tasks such as organizing cupboards, closet clean-outs, washing interior windows, floor and surface scrubbing, and carpet/upholstery cleaning.
• Gathering, washing, drying, and returning clothing and laundry items to their appropriate storage areas, while adhering to care instructions and maintaining the laundry area.
• Maintaining inventory levels of household cleaning supplies and personal products, ensuring the residence is always ready for entertainment or special events.
• Running errands, greeting vendors and guests, and performing special projects as assigned by the Properties Manager.

• Commitment to the utmost confidentiality to protect the family’s privacy.
• Willingness to use employer-provided equipment and cleaning products, with support from the Lead Housekeeper as needed.
• Open communication style and proactive teamwork attitude to collaborate with other household staff, to ensure the efficient operation of the home.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to a maximum height of six (6) feet.
• Ability to climb steps and stairs, bend, kneel, and remain standing on feet and kneeling on hands and knees for lengthy periods of time.
• Ability to work at a physically demanding pace.
• Ability to stand on small step stool to accomplish cleaning tasks.
