The Opportunity
Ottawa Avenue Private Capital (OAPC), an affiliate of RDV Corporation (RDV), manages an alternative asset portfolio that specializes in private equity. As an affiliate of RDV, OAPC utilizes RDV's Talent Services team to coordinate employee recruiting initiatives. OAPC continues to experience rapid growth, creating a fast-paced and dynamic work environment for its employees.

RidgeLake Partners, LP is a private equity fund jointly managed by OAPC and Apogem Capital (target fund size $1.25 billion) that is focused exclusively on making non-control investments in private equity firms (also known as “GP Stakes”).  The Firm is seeking an experienced Associate to support the continued growth of the fund’s GP Stakes investment portfolio. Successful candidates will take on progressive responsibilities, both proactively and assigned.

What You'll Do
Sourcing & Investment Underwriting
  • Participate in all phases of diligence including: review of prospective sell-side materials, deal modeling, other quantitative and qualitative diligence analysis, and calls with management
  • Preparation of investment committee materials
  • Participate in outbound sourcing efforts directly with target PE firms and with investment banking and other intermediaries
  • DealCloud / pipeline management and identification of prospective GP sponsors in line with investment criteria

Investment Portfolio Monitoring & Valuation

  • Review reporting provided by each investment
  • Preparation of internal reports tracking the investment performance
  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of financial models to facilitate semi- annual portfolio valuations and cash flow projections
  • Engage with portfolio company management teams on value-added activities

Investment Reporting, Internal Support, & Document Management

  • Preparation of investment analysis and commentary to support various quarterly and ad hoc reporting and marketing materials to existing and prospective investors
  • Input and maintenance of investment data within various systems
  • Preparation and distribution of select internal portfolio-related communications and meeting materials

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • 2-4 years of full-time, post-graduate work experience; prior experience in private equity investing, investment banking, M&A, leveraged finance, or consulting strongly preferred but not required for consideration
  • Team-first mentality with an emphasis on collaboration and servant leadership
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, as well as an ability to convey information to others clearly and concisely
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality are critical to be successful
  • Superior judgment and comfort level working with confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information, as well as an uncompromised commitment to the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Superior technical capabilities with expertise in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced financial modeling skills and knowledge of investment valuation techniques strongly preferred; experience with Pitchbook, CapIQ, Bloomberg, and/or other industry data providers will also be applicable


Additional Components

  • Compensation for this position is competitive and includes a base salary and performance-based bonus
  • This is a 2-3 year, pre-MBA role. The analyst will support the GP stakes team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of investments, working closely with all investment professionals
