The Opportunity

The Senior Trusts & Estates Analyst is responsible for working with the Tax, Treasury, and Accounting Departments to ensure all aspects of trust and estate administration are being properly addressed and completed.  The position will collaborate with the Tax Department Leadership Team to provide exceptional service and analysis to the trust beneficiaries, RDV Corporation and the Private Trust Company.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a key member of the Trusts and Estates team within the Tax Department
  • Work with the Tax Department Executive Assistant to maintain trusts and estates documentation files
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Trusts & Estates and Treasury Department to oversee and maintain trust distributions and ensure that all approvals are obtained and documented
  • Work with the Associate Director of Trusts & Estates and outside legal counsel in preparation and review of trust estate planning documents
  • Work with the Associate Director of Trusts & Estates to maintain trust abstracts for all trusts and estate summaries for each individual
  • Work directly with members of the Tax Department:
    • on analysis and implementation of estate planning transactions
    • on designing and reviewing all fiduciary accounting statements
    • on review of trust, estate, and gift tax filings
    • on tax audits of trust, estate, and gift tax filings
  • Ensure all agreements required between the family office, the private trust company and the investment advisor are maintained and up to date
  • Display pro-active initiative to research, suggest, and implement efficiencies and best practices within the department

What You'll Bring
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trust administration working in a trust company, family office, law firm, or the trust department of a bank or 5 years of experience with a public accounting firm working on individual and trust matters.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex tax issues.
  • Must display strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrates exceptional accuracy and ownership of project work and results.  Follows through on commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of people including internal team members, business executives, clients, external partners, vendors, and government representatives.
