The Opportunity
The position of Residential Technology Specialist calls for an individual with expertise in the installation and setup of integrated electronic systems, encompassing audio, video, and control systems. As a key member of the Property Technology team, your role will include a wide range of functions including managing and directing other integration firms in their installations, as well as carrying out in-house installations and system configurations. A strong cooperative spirit will be needed as you work with property Principals and staff members, other Wakestream IT team members such as Network engineers and IT Support specialists, and external vendors and contractors. Maintaining the highest standards of quality in our installations, delivered with professionalism and a pleasant, respectful demeanor is paramount in this position.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate within the Wakestream IT Property Technology team to contribute towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a technical expert in home electronics projects, ensuring the technology aligns with the expectations and experiences desired by Principals and their representatives.
  • Oversee quality control throughout all project phases - design, planning, installation, and completion - ensuring excellence in property technology implementations.
  • Provide advanced technical support and participate in property technology wellness visit schedules alongside other Wakestream IT team members.
  • Establish and implement property technology maintenance schedules and change management protocols.
  • Formulate property technology security guidelines and best practices to safeguard systems.
  • Remain current on trends in home automation and entertainment technologies, emphasizing solutions that are simple, consistent, and reliable.
  • Evaluate and present new technologies and innovative solutions to team members, Principals, and key stakeholders.
  • Outline product lifecycle guidelines, including maintenance and support for existing residential A/V systems, and educate relevant team members and maintenance staff.
  • Implement quality control metrics to monitor and address service issues in property technologies, including audio, video, streaming, power management, home automation, and control systems.
  • Ensure project success through adherence to project management best practices and maintaining clear communication with the project team.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with RDV Staffing team members and external vendors.
  • Assess project risks, report to the Property Technology Manager, and suggest enhancements.
  • Effectively use electronic project collaboration tools and document management systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries and issues.
  • Provide after-hours support as necessary.
  • Engage in additional project and support tasks as delegated.

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum three years of professional Audio/Video/Controls installation experience
  • Experience in programming/configuration of Crestron Home, Control-4, or Savant systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of A/V/C systems.
  • Experience in basic network configuration and IP addressing.
  • Strong interest in continued learning and education in the integration industry.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to effectively manage schedules and project timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to always maintain a pleasant, professional, and confidential demeanor.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule that could include nights and weekends.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
