The Opportunity
Seeking a detail-oriented and organized team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced, fun environment! This “hands-on” position is responsible for executing daily facility maintenance for immaculate private estates in Ada, Holland, and Harbor Springs Michigan. This includes assisting with exterior detailing, operational readiness, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and other special projects. This is an exciting position with significant variety and collaboration.

What You'll Do

Property/Facility Tasks

  • Perform a variety of cleaning and detailing duties to maintain consistent 5-star appearance and operational readiness of assigned properties. Assist with spring / fall checklists and seasonal opening / closing duties at assigned properties.
  • Develop an understanding of and comfort with testing various information technology, audio/visual, lighting, and other technology systems at assigned residences. Communicate issues with appropriate property manager and Wakestream IT for appropriate resolution.
  • Assist with conducting routine maintenance of pools and spas at assigned properties, ensuring optimal cleanliness of pool/spa and surrounding deck area at all times. Assist with monitoring water levels and temperature in pools/spas.
  • Assist with servicing other areas of residences, including but not limited to: porches, patios, fire pits, grilling areas, garages and mechanical spaces.
  • Assist with lawn edging, blowing and mowing at assigned properties.
  • Clear driveways, parking areas, patios, porches and walkways on a daily basis. Remove dust, dirt, cobwebs, leaves, and snow to ensure safe and pristine conditions at all times.
  • Routinely inspect and clean mechanical spaces, bringing any concerns to the attention of the Property Manager(s).
  • Routinely maintain and keep sports equipment and outdoor toys ready for safe use at assigned properties – exercise equipment, bikes in working order, pump bike tires and basketballs, charge batteries, and repair broken items or dispose if repair isn’t possible or if unsafe.
  • Must be proactive in ensuring leaders are aware of important issues which impact efficient operations of the homes. Report household maintenance/repair problems to Director of Properties and Household Operations, Sr. Property Manager and Property Manager
  • Assist with seasonal preparation of residences; requires flexibility in hours worked and duties performed.
  • Assist with property and household preparation and support of holiday and special event requirements, i.e. Christmas lighting, party prep, etc. (including being onsite for events as needed).

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness of interiors and exteriors of automobiles, fueling, etc.
  • Ensure proper paperwork is in each vehicle, i.e. registration, insurance, documentation, etc.
  • Report and assist with ensure proper maintenance needs – oil changes, car washes, recalls, repairs, etc.
  • Perform and assist with care, maintenance, cleaning, and operational readiness of golf carts, segways, scooters, snowmobiles, bikes, recreational equipment and other equipment.

Other

  • Assist with oversight and training of seasonal staff under the direction of the Property Manager(s).
  • Work closely with Sr. Property Manager (Paul) and Property Manager(s), informing them of important issues and proposing creative solutions that impact the properties.
  • Exercise open communication with Property and Household teams utilizing open and professional emails, text messages, and phone calls as appropriate.
  • Assist other household staff as needed on a priority basis, i.e., moving furniture, lifting heavy objects, cleaning, etc.
  • Perform special projects at request of Sr. Property Manager.

What You'll Bring
  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in audio/visual, information technology systems, and lighting systems.
  • Position requires travel; must be able to travel by automobile and aircraft; valid Enhanced Driver’s License required.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in daily routine essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and to work independently.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and be comfortable using computers.
  • Must work effectively and cooperatively with entire household team (including outside vendors) and offer supplemental services/duties as required.
  • Must be a responsible, dedicated, and dependable person of highest integrity; neat and tidy in appearance; organized and reliable; positive in attitude; and one who demonstrates pride in service which he/she provides.

Additional Requirements 
  • Responsibilities are conducted in the homes of the client of RDV Staffing. While an employer/employee relationship exists, it is important that employee is genuinely committed to being part of the household staff team whose goal is to positively contribute to a Christian home environment.
  • Preservation of a peaceful household atmosphere is essential. Responsibilities should be conducted around family’s activities, with sensitivity to privacy of family members at all times.
  • The employer’s/client’s personal and business matters are of critical importance, and the highest level of confidentiality must be exercised at all times.

Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to maximum height of six (6) feet; occasional lifting up to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
