The Opportunity
The Vice President of Tax is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the RDV Corporation tax department with an emphasis on business and investment entities, individuals, trusts, and foundations affiliated with RDV and OA Private Capital. This position provides strategic and hands-on leadership related to team development, technology, process, and tax technical matters in a fast-paced environment.
The Vice President of Tax serves as a trusted advisor on tax matters to the clients we serve, RDV and its affiliates, OA and the leadership team. As a key leader of RDV, the Vice President of Tax will also participate in the development and execution of strategy to promote and advance the Company values, vision, and culture.

What You'll Do
Tax:
  • Oversees all areas of the tax department, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Leads identification, analysis and implementation of strategic income tax planning opportunities for individuals, private equity, and tax-exempt entities.
  • Works with the CFO on identifying and analyzing estate planning ideas and developing reports to individuals showing status and results of current and future estate plans.
  • Provides tax expertise related to executive compensation plans including deferred compensation and carried interest plans.
  • Collaborates with the accounting, talent services, legal, philanthropy, OA Private Capital, and branch family offices on tax planning and compliance.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the Company’s tax compliance process, workpapers, and technology in order to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tax filings.
  • Completes final sign off on tax filings for business and investment entities, individuals, trusts, and foundations.

  • Responsible for leading tax projects and initiatives as well as serving as a key member of cross-functional teams.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA required. Master’s degree in taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in public accounting or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience at a Partner or Director level position including experience with individual, private equity, and family office clients.
  • Demonstrates through experience an ability to provide effective and strong technical and strategic leadership.
  • Proven track record of working successfully with an executive leadership team to create, lead, and drive values and cultural objectives.
  • Experience in leading the maximization of technology solutions to create an efficient operational environment.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex tax issues across a broad set of stakeholders.
  • Must display strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrates exceptional accuracy and ownership of work and results including following through on commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of people including internal team members, business executives, clients, external partners, vendors, and government representatives.
