The Opportunity
This “hands-on” position is responsible for assisting with and overseeing daily facility maintenance for immaculate private estates in Ada, Holland, Harbor Springs, and several other family properties across the United States. This includes assisting with oversight of technology, outside vendors, and other special projects as needed. This is an exciting position with a lot of variety and collaboration.

What You'll Do
Property/Facility Oversight & Assistance
  • Perform pre-arrival checklists and conduct advance work for family’s occupancy of assigned properties (preparing homes for arrival, troubleshooting problems, etc.) to ensure five-star readiness prior to the family’s arrival. Also perform spring and fall checklists and closing duties of assigned properties.
  • Perform or oversee outside vendors when necessary related to pool maintenance, electrical needs, and grounds/landscaping. Possess expert knowledge to oversee and maintain teak furniture at the residence.
  • Assist with conducting routine maintenance of pools and spas at assigned properties, also ensuring optimal cleanliness of pool/spa and surrounding deck area at all times; also assist with monitoring water levels and temperature in pools/spas.
  • Schedule, meet and coordinate efforts with outside vendors for items such as lighting needs and programming. Obtain quotes and review with Estate Manager.
  • Routinely maintain and keep sports equipment and outdoor toys ready for safe use at assigned properties – exercise equipment, bikes in working Exercise open communication with Estate Manager, Heads of Household, and all household staff, utilizing email, text messages, and phone calls as appropriate.
Other
  • Assist with oversight and training of seasonal staff.
  • Work closely with Estate Manager and other household leaders, informing them of important issues and proposing creative solutions that impact the properties.
  • Collaborate with other team members by actively participating in staff meetings.
  • Assist with grounds preparation and support of special events (including being onsite for events as needed) that take place at the residence.
  • Assist other household staff as needed on a priority basis, i.e., moving furniture, lifting heavy objects, cleaning, etc.
  • Perform special projects at request of Estate Manager.

What You'll Bring
  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in audio/visual, information technology systems, and lighting systems.
  • Position requires travel; must be able to travel by automobile and aircraft; valid driver’s license required.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in daily routine essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and to work independently.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and be comfortable using computers.
  • Must work effectively and cooperatively with entire household team (including outside vendors) and offer supplemental services/duties as required.
  • Must be a responsible, dedicated, and dependable person of highest integrity; neat and tidy in appearance; organized and reliable; positive in attitude; and one who demonstrates pride in service which he/she provides.

Additional Requirements
  • Responsibilities are conducted in the homes of the client of RDV Staffing. While an employer/employee relationship exists, it is important that employee is genuinely committed to being part of the household staff team whose goal is to positively contribute to a Christian home environment.
  • Preservation of a peaceful household atmosphere is essential. Responsibilities should be conducted around family’s activities, with sensitivity to privacy of family members at all times.

Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to maximum height of six (6) feet; occasional lifting up to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
