Supporting the department’s consultative approach, this position will be responsible for partnering closely with strategic and operational business leaders to identify, analyze, and mitigate insurance exposure across a diverse set of exposures affecting the organization. What You'll Do
Insurance Management
- Adapt to changing risk factors and environments; make strategic decisions based on data.
- Manage global insurance programs (personal lines, aviation, watercraft, commercial), including negotiation of placement structure and pricing.
- Coordinate with brokers to resolve discrepancies and secure appropriate coverage.
- Prepare confidential financial and exposure documentation for insurance applications and renewals; review policy terms and quotes; recommend coverage, limits, and retention levels to the Director.
- Independently manage relationships with brokers, underwriters, TPAs, and service providers; strong communication skills required.
- Present reports to guide leadership on renewal strategies, design specs, timelines, and financial analysis.
- Identify and analyze risk mitigation opportunities; recommend improvements and policy upgrades.
- Notify brokers of changes; manage documentation and communication (invoices, policies, endorsements).
- Track timely reimbursements from insurance vendors.
- Contribute to strategic planning and implementation meetings; follow up with Director.
- Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and counsel to review contractual insurance requirements and advise on language.
- Align with AIMS staff, accountants, and others to ensure timely updates and accurate coverage.
- Liaise with Executive Protection to maintain home security and coordinate insurance appraisals.
- Report risk management updates to Director; communicate with clients as needed.
- Maintain and update insurance budget; share relevant info with staff.
- Administer systems to track data and generate reports; ensure assets are properly insured; uphold confidentiality.
- Retain deep organizational knowledge to assess risks accurately.
- Support special projects as assigned by the Director.
- Manage property and casualty claims. Actively communicate with internal stakeholders, claims representatives, adjusters, and 3rd parties for timely resolution and claim settlement. Liaise with legal on claim related matters as appropriate.
- Determine if a Company loss can be covered by one of the Company’s global insurance policies.
- Ensure payment is received in a timely fashion.
- Investigate incidents that result in a loss and evaluate options to reduce the chance of recurrence.
- Conduct a regular review of open claims with insurer/broker. Prepare loss analysis to ensure compliance with insurance procedures and full utilization of loss prevention services.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5-7) years related insurance and risk management work experience.
- Certified Personal Risk Manager Designation and/or Certified Insurance Service Representative Elite Designation preferred or willingness to obtain designations and/or enhanced knowledge base for working with high net worth clients.
- Broad working knowledge of various insurance and risk management programs and strategies affecting multiple lines of coverage. Professional designations in the Risk Management field preferred.
- Understanding of the unique insurance and risk management functions faced by RDV Corporation and the client.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to initiate, prioritize, and follow through on projects.
- Must work independently and be highly analytical. Attention to detail with emphasis upon accuracy and quality of data. Highest level of confidentiality must always be exercised.
- Adaptable with the ability to maintain focused in stressful situations; Capability to voice concerns and potentially unpopular topics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
- Presentation of personal demeanor, which is professional, mature, courteous, and gracious.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and utilize technology to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows based software, equipment, and procedures, including Access, CRM, Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
