The Opportunity
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for preparation and review of tax workpapers, returns, and estimate calculations, preparation and review of tax-related correspondences, and tax planning analysis. What You'll Do
- Partner with the tax team in the detailed and accurate preparation and review of tax returns and estimate calculations. This may include some of or all the following tax returns for individuals, trusts, business entities, private equity investment entities, and foundations:
- Federal and state income tax returns
- Personal property tax returns
- Sales, use, and excise tax returns
- Partner with the tax team on the preparation and review of some of or all the following:
- Depreciation calculations using fixed asset depreciation software
- Correspondence related to IRS and state notices
- Research related to tax issues on reporting of income and deductions
- Maintain basis calculations on investment
- Conduct analysis and complete projects related to federal and state income tax planning.
- Collaboratively oversee and guide staff level team members to provide exceptional tax management services to RDV Corporation’s stakeholders.
- Communicate cross-departmentally to transfer and receive necessary tax information.
- Display pro-active initiative to research, suggest, and implement efficiencies and best practices within the tax management lifecycle.
What You'll Bring
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting or equivalent.
- CPA license preferred.
- Must have a strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze general ledger and financial statement information and the ability to understand sophisticated tax issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Proficient in tax return preparation software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to understand and utilize tax technologies and innovate with continuous process improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Uncompromised commitment to highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities.
