The Opportunity
The Project Manager and Systems Analyst position is primarily responsible for delivering project management and technology solutions aligning with RDV Corporation’s objectives. Provides direction and leadership to cross-functional project teams for successful application selection and implementation within the organization. Develops project plans, manages issues & risks, drives issue resolution, directs resources to accomplish project tasks, and maintains control over the scope and outcomes of assigned projects. Performs application configuration and customization, reports development, and provides business user support.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Manager

  • Provides project management services for key ITS and business projects that will significantly impact the efficiencies, services, and/or overall operations of the business.

  • Leads facilitation to obtain business case, development approach, requirements and project scope.

  • Plans, schedules, manages, tracks, controls and sets direction for projects. Monitors project plans, tracks key milestones and recommends adjustments to project teams and sponsors.

  • Sets up and tracks specific project plans, schedules and budgets. Manages cross-project dependencies. Appropriates resource allocations (hours and dollars) within projects and programs.

  • Works with ITS team members and managers to track, review and report on IT resources (hardware, software and services), expenditure levels and volume purchase agreements. Establishes and provides financial analysis for cost effective acquisition.

  • Maintains good relationships with internal customers to ensure systems and processes are integrated to support expected service levels.

  • Leads and facilitates project, including timely communication and updates with the project sponsor, as well as weekly project status update meetings, etc. Adjusts project plans and resolves issues as necessary.

  • Identifies and develops ITS and business reports, reporting standards, scorecards, and other key data reporting as needed.

  • Evaluates and implements software packages, and tools for project and portfolio management; coordinates enhancements.

  • Develops and coordinates quality assurance standards and strategies.

  • Develops, recommends, and helps to facilitate training strategies.

Systems Analyst

  • Identifies how business users create, gather, share and use data then determines how technology may make the business process more efficient. Provides business function consulting for new systems development, new package system evaluations and enhancement of existing systems

  • Works closely with business subject matter experts to articulate business processes and goals. Then works with business user to create high level designs, business process flows, specs, and test plans

  • Implements and maintains applications including vendor coordination, requirements gathering, system design, application selection, database design and implementation, data conversions, and system testing

  • Provides business-user reporting tool support utilizing the application’s reporting tool. This includes knowing how to use the tool, keeping the tool current, answering questions on how the tool works, and providing individual and group training on the use of the reporting tool. Creates and modifies reports as requested

  • Leads quality assurance by reviewing and using reporting to verify that business requirements have been accurately captured and presented

  • Provides end-user application support by researching and answering questions regarding functionality and working with the vendor when the application is not functioning as expected

  • Develops and maintains procedures related to how the application is used.

  • Implement timely and appropriate upgrades to applications. This may include upgrades to the database software and any other technology used by the application.

  • Develops, documents, implements, and maintains procedures related to the operation of applications. Ensures that back up of all applications is performed, access to applications is available only to those authorized and access is limited as necessary, and correct licensing is in place for applications. Participates as part of the disaster recovery team in the development and implementation of a disaster recovery plan.

  • Participate in business and application strategic planning

  • Remain current with application and industry developments

Elements of Success

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in information technology, business administration or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training.

  • A combination of five (5) years or more experience with application implementation/support and project management.

  • Experience with human resource information systems and general ledger applications a plus. Experience with Sage People or Dynamics GP a plus.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred. Experience leading Agile teams preferred.

  • Demonstrated project management leadership and excellence in creating and using project management tools with simultaneous projects of moderate to high complexity. Extensive experience managing cross-functional projects, programs and/or portfolios, (2 or more business sponsors).

  • Ability to perform project management and system support simultaneously. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Possesses superior project management skills for managing project scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk and procurement.

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Facilitation skills, negotiation skills and the ability to document thoroughly and accurately.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.

  • Ability to analyze trends and anticipate project and business needs. Drives accountability; holds others accountable; meets deadlines. Ability to turn business requirements into a technical solution.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.

  • Uncompromising commitment to the highest level of customer service and confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities. Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.

  • Understand and communicate complex technical ideas and structures to people with widely varying skills and interests using excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Availability evenings and weekends for on call support and scheduled system maintenance as needed. May be required to provide 24x7 on-call support for any emergency which requires activation of all or part of business continuity plans.
