The Opportunity
Active growing family living in Ada is seeking two highly organized and detail oriented part-time housekeepers for their home and condo. Will work together as a team 20-25 hours per week (each) covering core hours M-F 9am-2pm. Successful team members must be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative, good communicators, adept at organizing and general cleaning, skilled with laundry and proficient with ironing, interested in assisting with entertaining at family's residences, and running errands/pitching in where needed. Candidates must be comfortable working around children and the family dog. Some hospitality and/or customer service experience a plus. Start date is mid-September, but flexible for the right candidate. Great opportunity for parents with school-age children or college students/recent grads with hospitality mindset. Duties and Responsibilities

Daily and Detailed Cleaning

  • Cleans, vacuums, mops, and dusts floors, furnishings, high shelves, fixtures, appliances, lavatories, windows at reachable level, changes bedding, washes sheets and towels, empties trash, etc.

  • Washes dishes and loads/unloads dishwasher.

  • Launders, irons, and folds household linens and personal articles of clothing. Arranges for care and maintenance of family wardrobe (dry cleaning).

  • Organizes/cleans closets, drawers, cabinets, bookshelves, children’s toys, etc.

  • Polishes/cleans brass, crystal, and silver pieces; artwork; polishes woodwork.

  • Polishes/cleans light fixtures and kitchen appliances; scrubs tile grout.
Planning & Coordination
  • Takes initiative to know, learn, and apply the most effective and highest quality cleaning and home organization techniques and resources. Earns confidence and trust to make accurate and timely decisions within areas of expertise on behalf of the heads of household.

  • Develops and tracks the progress of projects; including organizational, seasonal, deep cleaning, etc. Schedules and manages vendor services; including carpet cleaning, window cleaning, etc.

  • Exercises open communications with other household staff (Nanny, Chef, Property Manager, other Housekeepers). Team player; chip in where needed.

  • Proactive in ensuring heads of household and other household staff are aware of important issues which impact efficient operations of the homes.

  • Monitors inventory levels and advises team members of need to replenish household cleaning supplies and products.

Family Support

  • Comfortable with and enjoys young children and the family dog.

  • Exercises extreme caution to ensure safety of young children and family dog when in proximity to cleaning supplies and household products.

  • May provide assistance to private household chef in food preparation, space preparation and clean up, decorating, or serving food and beverages for special events and family entertaining.

  • Greets vendors who provide services and guests calling at the home; accepts delivery of packages; runs errands and shops for household supplies as necessary.

  • Performs special projects as requested in order to ensure overall smooth and efficient operation of household.

Elements of Success

  • 2+ years housekeeping and organizing experience preferred. Some hospitality and/or customer service experience a plus. Willing to train right candidate.
     
  • Responsibilities are conducted primarily in the home(s) of the client of RDV Staffing. While an employer/employee relationship exists, it is important that employee is genuinely committed to contributing to a happy home environment and is able to work independently. May be required to “pitch in” to perform a household task not specifically outlined within this job description.  
     
  • Preservation of a quiet and peaceful household atmosphere is essential. Cleaning of the home must be conducted around family’s activities, with sensitivity to privacy of family members at all times. This requires flexibility to determine which rooms to clean at what time in order to be least intrusive to presence of family, i.e. if bedrooms are occupied by family members.
  • Equipment will be provided by employer, i.e. brooms, dusters, vacuums, cloths, gloves, step stools, etc.

  • Ease of using household technology is important, including smart appliances, ipads, email systems, and basic spreadsheets for planning and organizing.

  • Must be willing to be flexible in work hours during unexpected schedule changes, extended travel periods, and emergency situations. Also for vacation coverage of other housekeeper. Some late afternoon/evening hours may be requested for special events or family entertaining.

  • Must be a responsible, flexible, dedicated, self-motivated, and dependable person of highest integrity; neat and tidy in appearance; willing to dress in required uniform; organized and reliable; cheerful and positive in attitude; great communicator; and one who exhibits pride in service provided; extremely attentive to details to assure homes are presented to the highest quality standards and personal service (catches the smallest of details and fixes before the homeowner).
     
  • The family’s privacy is of critical importance; highest level of confidentiality must be exercised at all times.


Essential Physical Demands: Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to a maximum height of six (6) feet, remain standing on feet and kneeling on hands and knees for lengthy periods of time, climb steps and stairs; stooping, bending, and kneeling, stand on small step stools and tall ladders in order to accomplish cleaning tasks, push/pull vacuum cleaner and operate household maintenance equipment.
